Occupational medicine is one of the most varied specialties in medicine, covering the multi-faceted relationship between health and work. If you become a specialist you could find yourself working in the NHS; an international company; Defence Medical Services; or as a private provider. You will come across a huge range of physical and mental health problems, and may be the first one to spot the link between a hazard in a factory with an industrial disease.
There are also multiple sub-specialties including radiation, diving and aviation medicine, and many opportunities for international work.
